I has been nearly a year since I've posted a journal, just mentioning.

So, here is the tagging thing, ie. More information than you ever wanted to know about me/My attempt to portray myself as a witty and sophisticated person.

Facts about me.

1. I have a seagull skull named Irving (after Irving Sappho, because I named him while reading Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction, I was originally going to just name him Seymour until I realized what a painful alliteration Seymour the Seagull was. So it's Irving.) He wears a monocle in one empty socket and I'm in the process of making him a metal eye.

2. I don't believe in free will.

3. On the Myers-Brigg I am strung between INTJ (Mastermind) and INTP (Architect). Which is nice, but Jung in general, and mass consciousness in particular makes me itch. No matter how rickety (read: very rickety) Freud's theories are I've always preferred them to Jung. Probably because I've read some of Freud's lectures while I've only read some sort of posthumous overview of Jung's work. The best way to hate a thinker is to read someone's take on their ideas.

4. Speaking of Freud, I have some sort of oral fixation, at 16 I still put everything in my mouth.

5. I have a passionate love/hate relationship with dark teal. (Generally paired with a burnt yellow.)

6. Both may parents have dark eyes, but three of their four kids, (me included) have blue eyes.

7. I'm left handed.

8. From the age of 13 to 14 or maybe 15, evolutionary genetics was my religion (if you define a religion as a way of explaining How Things Came To Be This Way. {I think the term HTCTBTW comes from The Story of B. by Daniel Quinn, but I'm not sure, it's been a while since I read that book.})

9. (What? I don't like the number 8.) I have a leftover habit from computer programming that whenever I put something in parentheses I put in both parentheses, then put the cursor between them and write my witty aside, then move it out and continue with the regularly scheduled programming. As opposed to the normal open paren, text, close paren, pattern. This makes it much harder to forget to close your parentheses (not closing parentheses = death in programming). I do the same thing with quotes.


That's it, I'm snarked out.
